Quick Star is becoming one of the greatest
selle français stallions of his time. He has produced many
show jumping champions such as Stella (Meredith Michaels Beerbaum),
Qualandro (Otto Becker), Quick Silver BZ (Rolf-Goran Bengtsson),
Quick Roxette DH (Marcus Ehning), Quincy Z and Quick Lauro
Z (Jos Lansink) and Quilfilio (Franke Sloothaak). His offspring
are proven competitors in the young horse classes including
Mine Star, winner of the World Championship for Young Jumping
Horses for five-year-olds in Lanaken (BEL); Quilot Z, 6th
at the World Championship for Young Jumping Horses for five-year-olds
at Zangersheide; Quicksy, 4th at the Young Horse Championships
for five-year-olds in Warendorf (GER); and Qrocant Z, 1994
Champion European Foal at Lanaken (BEL). Quick Star offspring
are bringing in some of the highest bids at international
auction. At the 2000 P.S.I Sales, his son Quireux, a six-year-old
gelding, was sold for the world-record price of DM2,500,000
(US$1.3).
This highly regarded stallion has recently
bred some of the greatest show jumping mares of all time,
Ratina Z, Weihaiwej, Ueleme, Beauty, the dam of Joly Coeur,
and Roxane de Gruchy. His son Quality Touch Z (out of Sevada,
the dam of Classic Touch) is a Zangersheide stallion, while
another son, Quinctius, is licensed in Oldenburg. Quick Star
is by Galoubet A, the sire of three-time World Cup Champion,
Baloubet du Rouet (Rodrigo Pessoa). By the SF foundation sire
Almé, Galoubet A was a successful competitor himself, winning
19 grand prix during his career.
Quick Star's dam Stella, a 7/8th Anglo-Arab
mare, jumped internationally under Nelson Pessoa. She won
32 grand prix and was French Champion as a three, four and
five-year-old. She also produced the 1992 Barcelona Olympic
competitor Olisco (by Jalisco B).
A testament to his outstanding quality,
Quick Star is approved in over 20 studbooks including selle
français, Oldenburg, KWPN, Hanoverian, Westphalian, Zangersheide,
BWP and Holsteiner.
