DUTCH WARMBLOOD STALLIONS

Hemmingway
(Leandro x Ramantiker x Magnon)
Born 1989, 16.0 ½ hh (1.63 m) approved KWPN

Hemmingway is a young stallion with an exceptional and proven Holsteiner pedigree. His offspring have excellent movement and very good jumping abilities such as Leandro (KWPN) who won the 1997 Nation Dutch Championships for Young Horses as a four-year-old and was fourth overall at the 1998 World Championship for Young Jumping Horses in the five-year-old division. In North American, Hemmingway's son Prince (Hemmingway x Wimpel x President) owned by DG Bar Breeders, Inc., was awarded the star predicate at the 2002 NA/WPN Keuring with his impressive canter and outstanding trot.

Hemmingway is by Leandro, a son of the great sire Langraf I. The top sire of the Holsteiner studbook, Langraf I, by Ladykiller xx, has over 60 licensed sons such as Lacros, Linaro, Letus II, and Landadel, who produced three champion stallions for the Oldenburger breed alone, and over 340 approved broodmares. Of those, 260 are in the Head Stud Book and approximately 70 have been awarded the State Premium. Langraf I offspring have accumulated more than US$7,000,000 in prize money, such as Freestyle (formerly Lalique), Aachen Grand Prix winner, and Libero, five-time Dutch National title five times and 1994 Volvo World Cup winner.

Hemmingway's dam Marle produced three international show jumpers in a row. She is by Romantiker who is by the "stallion of the century", G. Ramiro Z. This famous sire, an international show jumper in his own right, has influenced almost every European studbook and alone has produced dozens of approved sons including Almiro, Armstrong, Berstein, Damiro, Elmero, Rampal and Zeoliet. His most famous offspring in recent times is the mare Ratina Z who won gold and silver medals at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1993 Volvo World Cup Final.

Hemmingway is a striking stallion with excellent movement and outstanding jumping talent. In 1997 a four-year-old Hemmingway offspring won the IAN Trophy at Ermelo, Netherlands, and in 1999, another one of his four-year-olds won the F.P.S. Championship.
