Heartbreaker was already proving himself

de Molendreef, Quartz Music, Quintin, Quasimodo and Zip, competing
successfully in the 1.50 m classes as eight-year-olds. By
the age of 12, Heartbreaker already had more than 10 approved
sons, including the jumping stallion Orlando, Quickfeur (BWP),
Robin (ENCI-Italy) and Quasimodo (A.E.S.-U.K.) and he led
the jumping index with a staggering score of 168 points. In
Belgium he led the jumping index from 1998-2001.
Heartbreaker is by Nimmerdor, one of the
best performance producing stallions ever. By Farn, Nimmerdor
sired over 40 approved stallions including Wellington, Goodtimes
and Amethist. With 42 offspring competing internationally,
Nimmerdor was ranked 29th on the World Breeding Federation's
ranking for 1992-2001. Currently 25% of the top 150 Dutch
show jumpers are out of broodmares by Nimmerdor. Heartbreaker's
dam Bacarole is by Silvano who is by Le Mexico and out of
the mare Orchidée, a full sister to Wendela who was 10th in
the Stockholm Equestrian Games with Jennie Zoer and of the
KWPN-approved stallion, Gerschwin.
Heartbreaker himself was 5th in the 1996
World Breeding Championship for Young Jumping Horses as a
six-year-old and 4th in the same Championship the following
year as a seven-year-old. In his grand prix career under Peter
Geerink, Heartbreaker obtained excellent results, which in
1998 included a 3rd place finish in the grand prix at Hamburg,
Falsterbro and Geesteren, 6th in Rotterdam and double-clear
in the Dublin's Nations' Cup. In 1999 he won the Dortmund
Grand Prix and was 4th in the Grand Prix of Aachen. The following
