DUTCH WARMBLOOD STALLIONS

Ahorn keur
(Nimmerdor x Ladykiller xx x Fasching)
born 1982, 16.3¾ hh (1.72 m), approved KWPN, Facteur Selle Francaise, Oldenburg, ENCI

Ahorn is producing jumping prospects with excellent conformation, lots of scope and plenty of power to perform at the highest levels. He is the sire of several show jumpers including AK High Valley Z (Jos Lansink), the recent winner of the TNT Sires of the Century competition for the second year running, Eleva (Eric van der Vleuten), V & L Chanel (Jeroem Dubbeldam), Ihorn (Mark van Dijk), Ivoor (Francois Mathy Jr.) and Jeremy (Albert Zoer). He has produced a number of champion mares and five approved sons, including Hattrick.

Ahorn is by one of the top KWPN producers, the legendary Nimmerdor (by Farn), sire of over 40 approved stallions including Wellington, Goodtimes and Amethist. With 42 offspring competing internationally, Nimmerdor was ranked 29th on the World Breeding Federation's ranking for 1992-2001. Currently 25% of the top 150 Dutch show jumpers are out of broodmares by Nimmerdor. Ahorn's dam, Hyacinthe, a German state premium mare, was awarded Keur, IBOP AA, Preferent and Prestatie status - the highest distinctions that the KWPN grants successful broodmares.

Ahorn was a top competitor in his own right and, under Albert Voorn, he was short-listed for the Dutch Team in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. This stallion showed extensively in grand prix, excelling in Amsterdam, Geneva, The Hague and Zurich, and his performance has earned him the prefix "Olympic".
